Specially dedicated to....

my dearest MMS, my fellow sec one squad ics and RVNP as a whole (:

Today marks another milestone in my RVNP life, to witness the ROD of my Sec 1 Squad.
It felt like yesterday when we first got our posting, when the four of us first met up to come up with ideas on how to take the squad and what to prepare/teach them for their first activity.
Never able to forgot the first activity we had with them, how excited we were, how nervous we were.
Through the few months we had with them, many things happened, many memories shared, many emotions experienced, many things learnt. We grew, they too. And not forgetting the last act with them and our ROD. However cliche it may sound, I am really thankful to have shared those memories with them, and my fellow ics.

Through these years, they have matured, grown in many ways. I've seen how they first learnt drills, I've seen how they trained, I've seen how they lead. Honestly speaking, it really seemed so fast, one year flew past, as I ROD-ed as a CI, as I watched them take over the unit. And today, I see them handing the unit over to the next batch of NCOs. There is this indescribable feeling in me, which I bet was felt by every single IC seeing their squad ROD, I guess it was pride and happiness.

Their performances/speeches although simple, came from the heart. Was really touched to be appreciated in this way, to hear special dedications, to every single IC that has taken their squad, to be remembered for the effort put in to helping them to improve and become better. The memories came flowing as they mentioned bits and pieces of the past, moments that were shared just between us. Especially the story about how their squad name came about, how their squad motto came about, honestly, didn't expect MMS to have been derived from there, but on the other hand, felt reassured that we did leave behind a legacy in the sense. It's amazing how after so long, those memories we had are still so etched in our minds, how simple words like "firecrackers" can set us off laughing non-stop, how different parts of the school brought back really beautiful memories. There were definitely joy, laughter, tears, sweat and what not, which made all these memories unique in their special ways.

Being back for ROD seemed so natural to us, having attended the 7 RODs ever since sec 1.
Really happy to be back despite the upcoming finals, with squadmates, to have a simple catch-up, to do really crazy things together, to reminisce those days we had as a squad, laughing and tearing up.
Lying on the grass and taking photos, taking jumpshots in the middle of the track, watching performances together, doing billibanja on the track (& always ended up laughing), and do a crazy chain of cheers as if we were still cadets. Still remember all those funny incidents during our ROD performances since Sec 1, how we tried our best but still fail simply because we were not cut out for dancing. How we went through really hard times together as a squad, to learn many things through the hard way, shed tears together, supported one another and grew together. As I always say and believe, squadmates are people who are unique, they are not like normal friends 'cos we suffer together while we play and learn together. Irreplaceable, this special group of people so close to my heart. Over the years, many things have changed and many of us changed too, yet some things remained the same, that feeling that comes to us whenever we are back with the unit, that joy in us. Come to think of it, it has been 3 years since we ROD-ed as bangbangsquad, and I'm glad we are still so closely-tied to RVNP, and it's really wonderful to have them around. With the love and bond to RVNP, I'm sure there are many more RODs for us to attend together in the future (:

The pride and love for the unit hasn't changed a bit.

To MMS,
Congratulations on your ROD Sec 1s, 4 years went past just like that, I don't know how much y'all feel that you have truly gained from this journey, but I'm sure y'all have learnt some kind of skills, and most importantly, gained the special friendship and bond between you and your squadmates. Treasure this special bond, one that I believe will be able to last a lifetime if you are willing to put in the effort to maintain it. As y'all mentioned in the speech, some of y'all didn't join NP willingly back in Year 1, but the very fact that y'all stayed on with the unit despite given the choice to leave in Year 3 proved something. Never told you guys this before but I was impressed with the number, 23 out of 28 is alot, and it is heartening for me, be it from an IC point of view or as a CI or even as senior/fellow RVNP cadet.

I have to say that I'm glad to see how emotional you guys got, the tears on your faces, but this is not because I'm sadistic but because I see how much you guys care. That again, is another heartening realization. Also very touched by how closely knitted you guys have became after all the years, and the fact that y'all were appreciative to your ICs, officers and all those who helped you guys to become who y'all are today. Really really proud of you guys. As the cliche line goes, this is not the end, it is merely another beginning. You may have stepped down as an NCO but never as an RVNP cadet. Continue to keep that passion and love for the unit in your heart, visit your juniors, give them the advice and help as y'all can, contribute and give back to the unit in ways y'all are able to. All the very best in your studies and in your respective new CCAs. Do remember that once an RVNP cadet, always an RVNP cadet. Last but not least, welcome to the RVNP Alumni Family and Happy ROD once again Maomaos! (:

RVNP SOLID SAH! (:

Memories for a lifetime, with them...

Our memories,
those that will last us a lifetime...

Had a belated birthday surprise by my PW group yesterday..
Although belated by 2 months, it felt really great.
It's only when it's so far away from the actual day when you don't expect anything.
And that's when surprises work the best I guess.

When you've known your friends for more than 6 years, when it seemed like you've known them for a lifetime, birthday surprises don't seem to be necessary at all.
When you feel contented with just a simple text message, a simple meal together, that simple happiness.
When I really didn't have any expectations at all.

The original plan was to have a pre-enlisment meet-up since KL is enlisting real soon.

Hearing how they met up to plan for near a month, the amount of effort put into the gifts, the card, even to every single text they sent yesterday, just to make sure the event was successful, everything went smoothly, I was definitely more than grateful. Although my face may not say it all.

There were alot of emotions, alot of things went through my mind.
I was grateful for everything.

There were alot of hints along the way, things that made me go oooooo at the end of the event when we talked about it and tried to piece things together..
When MT asked about the ATMs at JP (&she was going to get my presents), when I met SH on the way to 7-11 (&she was carrying all the presents), when MT told me she had to go to the hospital (&she was at SH's house preparing), when SH told me she got into a car crash and was scolded by her mum for it (&she was at her house preparing), when KL told me he just woke up (&he was already at SH's house at 10am).

Things that all made sense when I slowly thought through it. Like what they said, "the things they do for me, for my birthday." :D

Other than thankyou, being grateful, I don't know what else should I say.

Really loved the presents:
The Jigsaw puzzle photo frame (something I've always wanted YAY!), the super nice blue box (which they took ages to decide and buy HAHA), the hand-made birthday card with sweet messages (hand-made cards are the best!), the 19 memories we've shared (every single memory so fresh in the mind as I looked through the cards, together with all the joy, laughter, sweat, tears we've shared, yes the shared memories), the big big fruit cake with the yellow candle (my favourite, chosen "on purpose") :P

Really thankful for having such a close PW group, thanks to every single one, it definitely takes everyone in the entire group to stay close. :D &I'm sure we will have more and more shared memories in the future (adding on the 19, more and more memorable times we will share).

Thanks for the love, my lovey PW group which is full of love (:

It was not the first surprise I've had,
Not the most surprising one,
Yet it was one that truly made me feel grateful,
Grateful for being loved and remembered.

As much as we didn't expect this day to come so soon,
it came and ended.

12 Oct 2012,
Class of 2012.
Our Graduation Ceremony.
One that was unique, one that was purely for us.

It was an important day for many of us out there, last official day of school, last day standing at the field having morning assembly, last day gathered like this as Class of 2012.

Receiving the award on this day made things even more memorable and definitely unforgettable.
Thankyou Mr Leow for the nomination and encouragement, thankyou 6A'12 for the support and recognition. Wouldn't have made it without many out there who were there to support.
Thankyou to everyone who made me who I am today.

People told me that when I started out on my speech yesterday, they had tears in their eyes.
I guess, that's when it really hit us, the feeling of graduation, leaving our comfort zone, feeling blessed and grateful for the years we had together and for the care and love from those around us.

Alot of emotions, tears of joy, tears of sorrow.
The emptiness left behind after the day ended.

While our journey in RV has ended, friendships, bonds that we forge shall last for as long as we try our very best to maintain them.

When all the tears dried up and we wake up to a brand new morning, we smile and embrace our upcoming challenge, try our very best to achieve the best we could, to make those who care proud of us.

Class of 2012,
Happy Graduation!
&all the best for A's (:

Most may view 6A to be the quiet class
But this stereotype didn’t last
From our censorable discussions during GP
To our memorable class outings
From our frequent whines for breaks in Bio
To our sponsored spams of Dettol
From our admittedly silent copying in Chem
To “Will You” karaoke jams
From our endearing “阊哥” jokes in Math
To our everyday race for lessons out of breath
From our incessant teasing during Econs
To our marathon towards ‘A’ level that seems so long…

Indeed, with 5 loving mentors and 22 contrasts,
6A truly never sleeps… in class.

Facebook

6A's Graduation Speech:
On 2nd January 2007, Tuesday, Malan Campus. There we were, sitting in LT1."What school were you from?" was the first question that popped up. Walking down the aisle in the hall, seniors clapping enthusiastically. That marked our first day in RV.
International Understanding Day,West Malaysia Trip, Outward Bound Singapore, Racial Harmony Day, Project Work. Six years have passed.
On 12 October 2012, Friday, Boon Lay Campus. Here we are, sitting in the Auditorium."When will we gather like this again?" was the last question we had in mind.Walking up the stage, teachers smiling proudly. This marks our last day in RV.
We have many to thank, many wonderful memories were shared.
To Mr Leow, Mr. Best Form Teacher. Thank you for being ever-so-encouraging, telling us everything was possible.
To Mr Sim, Mr. Best Co-Form.We shall not try to make a laundry list of what you have done for us.
To Mdm Sim, Ms Motherly. We really appreciate your effort in the preparation for every lecture you deliver, and we really loved your jokes.
To Mr Khoo, Mr Cool Math Teacher.Thank you for the stress-free Math lessons, sharing Sunday Times articles with us and always going, "阊哥, 吃饱了吗?"
To Mr Azmi, Mr Ask Me Maybe. Hey I've just met you, and this is crazy, so here's my question, so ask me maybe. We will really miss your nagging.
Ms Ang, thank you for being our tour guide, bringing us through our journey on "PeW PeW Island".
Ms Ong, Mr Mark, Ms Han, Mr Wong, Mr Widjaja, thank you for strengthening our foundation for the various subjects, bringing us to where we are today.
Finally the day has come for us to embark on a new journey.
Class of 2012, Happy Graduation!

6 years, well spent.

Having being part of the big RVNP for 6 full years, thinking back, I guess this experience has changed me a lot. I'm sure many ex-cadets out there will definitely agree, that this once in a lifetime experience is really life-changing.

I still remember the stress I felt when we first learnt drills. The joy when we first broke our pt record as a squad. The tears many of us shed when we saw our first batch of NCOs graduate. The first time we saw our NCOs shed tears because of us. The first time we scolded our cadets. The first time we took promotion. The many many first times, all the emotions.

There are many people who made up my RVNP journey, making it so meaningful and definitely unforgettable.
Of course the most important people, my squadmates. They are the ones who went through thick and thin with me, people who really understand me the best, the ones who supported me and loved me no matter what happened. They will always have that special place in my heart, always.

Of course there are special thanks to those few (: my fellow sec 1 ics, Wying, Xinyi and KY. Thankyou for sharing those wonderful moments, for always trying your best, just to make things work for the kids. I'm honestly ecstatic to know that all of us will be attending ROD 2012 together, it's really been long since we last gathered together. This made tonight far more meaningful than it already is.

And to Jovi, thankyou for every single thing you did, for us as well as for the unit. Your love and passion for the unit really touched me. I've learnt so much from you. (:

Jingxian, for simply being there for me, listening to my rantings and giving advice. Thankyou for making me think a lot deeper into things and helping me see things in many other perspectives. The support you've given really helped me get through the toughest times.

However, without our i/cs and officers, we wouldn't have came this far. So glad to have some of them coming back for our ROD, giving it another level of significance.

Special thanks to Ma'am Huiqing, for her guidance from NCO-ship to CI-ship. Working under her, although stressful, was definitely fruitful, with the many things we have learnt along the way..

To my dearest Maomaos, I've already said everything I've wanted to say in the note/text that I've written to you guys, just rmb, It's really heartwarming to see the squad that we have brought into our big RVNP family grow all the way and now, leading the unit. The odd feeling when you see them taking squads just as you did in the past.. Time really flies. Back then, NP may not be your first CCA choice, but I'm sure y'all will understand, "You cannot always get what you love, but you can always love what you get."

To the dearest Bubbletea squad, thankyou for your contributions and effort y'all have put in to make the unit better. Your Staff Jingxian told me this, it's not what you have not done that matters now, it's what you have done to make the unit what it is today that matters. I guess this applies to you guys as well, although y'all have graduated as NCOs, many things will remain, things like the memories, the bonds you've forged with your squadmates, your seniors, your juniors, will not change. Hope that y'all have gone through an enriching and meaningful journey and are proud that y'all have gone through this. Happy ROD NCOs! -salutes-

To the dearest ninjas and 100plus(es), also sent y'all texts with everything I've got to say to you guys. Now that another year has passed, I'm sure y'all have gained that much more. Continue to learn as much as you can from one another, from your NCOs and officers. Treasure the time y'all have with your squadmates and don't leave yourselves with the room for regrets later on. Jiayou, fellow RVNP cadets (:

所谓天下没有不散之宴席, my 6 years with RVNP has officially ended. But my ties/love for the unit will never cease. Glad to have the chance to contribute to the unit that have taught me a lot, and gotten me to where I am today. Things would have been so different without NP as part of my life.

...Work together as a team, RV spirit never dims.. RVNP SOLID SAH!

rvnps107, rvnps110, rvnpCIs11-12.

&he said, I, love you forever,

Forever and Always.

She's sitting at the table
The hour's getting later
He was supposed to be here
She's sure he would've called
She waits a little longer
There's no one in the driveway
No ones' said they've seen him
"Why, is something wrong?"

She looks back to the window
Suddenly the phone rings
A voice says, "Something's happened."
That she should come right now
Her mind goes to December
She thinks of when he asked her
He bent down on his knee first
And he said...
I, want you foreverForever and alwaysThrough the good and the bad and the uglyWe'll grow old togetherForever and always
She pulls up to the entrance
She walks right to the front desk
They lead her down a million halls
A maze that's never ending

They talk about what happened
But she can barely hear them
She tries to keep a straight face
As she walks into the room

She sits by his bedside
Holds his hand too tight
They talk about the kids they're gonna have
And the good life
The house on the hillside
Where they would...
Stay,Stay there foreverForever and alwaysThrough the good and the bad and the uglyWe'll grow old togetherAnd always rememberWhether rich or for poor or for betterWe'll still love each otherForever and always
Then she gets an idea
And calls in the nurses
Brings up the chaplain
And he says a couple verses
She borrows some rings
From the couple next door
Everybody's laughing
As the tears fall on the floor
She looks into his eyes and says...

I, want you foreverForever and alwaysThrough the good and the bad and the uglyWe'll grow old togetherForever and alwaysAnd always rememberWhether happy or sad or whateverWe'll still love each otherForever and alwaysForever and alwaysForever and always
She finishes the vows but
The beeps are getting too slow
His voice is almost too low
As he says...
I'll love you foreverForever and alwaysPlease just rememberEven if I'm not thereI'll always love youForever and always

你最近還好嗎 是不是也在思念裡掙扎 你說會記得我 還記得嗎;

a day to count my blessings,

and to be grateful for everything I have.

Merry Christmas people! Time to recall my 3 weeks (well-spent)..

In a flash, things ended.
3 weeks of training ended.
On 18 Dec 2010, we officially POP-ed.

As I recall this 3 weeks, I thought, time really flies.
Just before the course, I kept wondering, how am I gonna bear through all this.
3 weeks indeed seemed long and scary.

The process was yet enriching and inspiring.
Made alot of new friends, gained alot of knowledge, got a deeper understanding of things.

Suddenly I was glad that I actually went for the course, aware of the responsibilities and duties that came along with it.

Residential Course 1 - HTA
We started off as 36, unfamiliar with each other.
Still remembered the day we walked into the drill shed, looking at the unfamiliar faces, trying to find the board which supposedly had our squad allocations.
Then, we finally went to fall in, got our allocations.
The first time I realise, I am part of Alpha Squad, together with all my Area 16 friends, and of course, with ky and zhengxiong (these were the few I knew then)
Really happy to be in a squad in which I know at least a few people.
On the first day, Alpha the duty squad, was bombarded with alot of information.
Met Instructors Ma'am LiLing and Ma'am JingHong.
Felt very blessed to have them as our squad instructors, very patient and forgiving Ma'ams.
Met my dearest Bunk 39 mates for the first time.
Other than Liyan, there's Linda (cute and high girl!), Tai-Tai Wei Jing, Sexy Hotpants girl Chun Hui, Grp I/C Jas, Awesome Nurul, Zai Amelia (She's Chinese!) and Thumbs-up Puay Ling :D
The 9 awesome girls totally made my stay in HTA (Y)!
Thanks girls ^^
Polishing boots at night, ironing uniform in the dark became things we had to do every night, but it was quite fun actually, amidst chatting about our day with our individual squads.
Slowly, got to know the rest of the squad, nice people like Syariff, Juliene, Geraldine, Nasuha, Ho Ming and many more.
Still remember how we were the first group to conduct foot drills 1 for the squad.
Thought Ma'am JH was being really lenient, 'cos I thought I kinda screwed up but yup.
Nonetheless, really fun to take lessons with Daniel and Juliene (:
Things got abit rowdy as we got to know each other more and was quite hard to shut the squad up at times, everyone wants to be heard that's why.
Meals at HTA was not bad really, just that portion was really huge, had to share with Liyan.
Thanks to all the people who helped collect food for us over the 2 weeks. (Especially the guys)
Remembered that our goal was to develop a Special Bonding? (Guess we did it somehow) :D

Residential Course 2 - HTA
Had a recharge of batteries over the weekend, spammed the whole world with updates about us.
And yes, we were back, to HTA.
Back to Bunk 39.
It was actually fun, waiting for the duty squads to open up our bunks at night, as we rush into our bunks, grab our stuff and chiong to the toilet down the corridor.
The best feeling comes only when you realise you are the first to reach the bathroom. HAHA.
Bathing at your top speed, afraid to choke up the queue and rushing back to bunks to queue for the iron.
Things were routine yet exciting each night.
Enjoyed the classroom lessons, where we recapped and got deeper knowledge of the hard skills that we have. Got to know alot of things I didn't know of, weird but it felt kinda of nice.
Still remembered the night we stayed up to study for CA2, together with UIA the next day.
Nearly died, adding to that, instructors inspected and made sure everyone was sleeping.
Woke up at 3plus to polish boots, iron uniform and last minute cram in stuff.
Everyone was tired but it was worth it.
The last night spent at HTA, I felt quite emotional.
Thinking that it was the last night we bunked together, last day we spend as Alpha Squad (technically not the case but ya).
All the memories we shared kinda of flashed back and things felt quite sad.
And yes, soon, RC2 came to an end.
Laid infront of us, our final challenge ATC.

ATC - Camp Resilience
At Ubin, when we reached, remembered how we sat around and waited for logi.
After tent-pitching, it was Camp Familiarisation.
It was then Popeyes came into action.
Although quite screwed up here and there but glad that Camp Fam had something done (:
Well done guys! (If not for Cat 1, it would have been more fun I guess)
Team Building Games was fun too, especially Jumping Two-Twos.
Had a great deal of fun, laughing like mad when Dylan with a slip of his tongue, made everyone's day.
Rafting was really fun, got to work with many of Popeyes.
Funny like crazy when we had to point and draw in mid-air and couldn't understand each other.
Unable to talk and without sufficient beforehand planning, really amazing how we could actually make a raft that floats and is really stable.
Although we were all sweating like mad in our dark long sleeved shirts and from all the pulling of manila hemps, it was really enjoyable.
Jokers like Hongjie, Kelvin and Weiquan made it really fun.
Land Exp was cool too, very well-planned out! (By Superman!)
Together we are Super Popeyes woohoo ^^
Went to Secret Garden, a few huts and also Rock Temple and the Pekan Quarry.
Got alot of new knowledge once again and learned alot about motivation and perseverence along the way.
Oh, and the German who owned the fish HAHA.
Nearly died at the last lap of the Land Exp (Marshal thought I was asthmatic .______.)
But had a great feeling, accomplishing yet another 4hours plus of land expedition.
ATC was tough but could have been tougher.
The countless meals of maggie mee, and 少到可怜的canned food together with Popeyes.
Thanks to all the guys who helped us with washing of our utensils and messtins :D
Will always remember the performance item by the instructors: 'Fireworks' by Katy Perry.
The deep meaning behind it (:
Campfire was awesome, thankyou Rangers! :D (Really liked Ranger's performance anyway)

Passing Out Parade (POP) - Unity Square
Was tricked by FI Azli, thinking that our parade was cancelled.
But really glad it wasn't.
Really glad it didn't rain, although it should have rained.
(Thankyou clouds!)
Everything was smooth and we all marched out in White, proud and smart.
It was a day we all waited for, training so hard for 3 weeks.
The day we held the M16, with bayonets, with white gloves, in No. 1 Ceremonial Dress.
It's a pity Alpha didn't pass out as 34, but we were 34-strong in our minds, in our hearts.
As my mum and my sis don the rank on my shoulder, I felt the weight, it was weighing down, as if telling me that hey, it is time.
This was it, I passed the last hurdle, with the help of many out there, thankyou guys.

As JX said, the hardest has yet to come. Now that I have cleared the first 3 weeks, the 2 years ahead is probably the main challenge.

Wanna thank a whole lot of people out there:
My parents and my jie -
For supporting me in everything I do, no matter what. Although I know my dad wasn't really keen on letting me go for it, but him waking up early every morning just to run and train with me for the course showed something. Thankyou daddy (: And thankyou mummy, for cooking delicious stuff for me over the weekend, for preparing me with all sorts of things like sunblock, counterpain ointment, insect repellent, anything you can think of. (: Of course, jie, for being behind me all the time, telling me to jiayou and stuff (And for taking care of my then dying cactus!). Love y'all :D

My squadmates -
Although most of y'all didn't say much, thankyou for the support. Especially for JX, Pris, OM, Oon, Van, Matt and Jovi - for giving me the utmost support, the affirmation, the encouragement, the strength to carry on. And of course, for fetching me from the ferry point, for the pleasant surprise at my door and all the sweet msgs. (: Thanks guys, never would be able to do all this without you guys.

My dearest clique (shyt-c) -
My dear 4 girls, never failed to give me the support and drive I needed, what I felt was never limited to just a msg, a fb comment. It goes a long way and helped me carry on from where I wanted to give in. Thanks girls, for being my continual inspiration and source of motivation (:

Kuanyuan -
For all the things you've done for me, be it in or out of course. You know it, so I don't have to name them. Thanks alot, I am grateful, really (:

Alpha -
For making CIBTC a wonderful experience. Never to forget you guys. :D Thanks for being there, and I'll try to be always around when you guys need me. Thanks for being my support and may y'all soar and excel, as great Sirs and Ma'ams (:

Popeyes -
A really cheerful bunch who made ATC very fulfilling. Went through all the sweaty times, did all the saikang together, shared funny moments. Even had a very original cheer for ourselves. Things will never be the same without any one of y'all so may Popeyes stay close and all the best guys! :D

As the course draws to a close,
I am gonna miss alot of things.
No more marching around as Alpha,
No more running around in white round neck tees,
No more late night ironing of uniforms,
No more studying with light from handphones,
No more anxious waiting for bunk keys to open bunks,
No more running at top speed to the toilets at night,
No more 'Hey, who got deodorant spray, can lend me?',
No more holding 3-4 cups of cordial drinks for the squad during meals,
No more 'Anyone saw my corporate bag?',
No more late night chatting in the bunks,
'cos we are no longer CITs.

D10, we have completed our 3 weeks of training, now it is time.
May all of us work hard and give back knowledge and values we have gotten from the corps.
'Aspire to Inspire before you Expire.'
'Success is not final, Failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.'
Well done Sirs and Ma'ams of D10 (:

a jog to perk myself up,

and probably give myself more energy.

Woke up at 5plus this morning and went for a morning run with my dad.
5 rounds around the neighbourhood, didn't time myself though.
Shall run again tomorrow.
Goal: 10 rounds, in 25min
(Shall achieve this before CIBTC which = run every morning)

As I ran, the wind surged past, mind went really blank.
Love it when I ran, don't have to think about anything for that 15min.
Just concentrate on my steps, on my breathing.
Very comfortable.

Although the road ahead may be very hard, but I guess I found my motivation to carry on.
It may not really last, I may fall again anytime, but at least, right now, I found the drive.

^Watching HP7 with jx and pris in ~2.5 hours! Yay ^^
Mahjong session after that :D

when you are lost,

without any confidence and all.

Had this feeling for quite a few times already.
Always manage to get over it very quickly.
Maybe go to sleep and the next day, everything's gone, no tightness in the chest, nothing.
Sometimes, a kbox session, let everything out and all's fine.
But somehow this time felt quite different.

It was so heavy, weighing me down.
Can't do anything about it.
In bed, thinking, thinking and thinking.
It was painful, yet no tears flowed.
Don't know what I should be feeling actually.

Lost all confidence, lost all directions.
I started to question myself.
Why, why do so much? For what, really.
If I don't even find joy, what's the point.
Maybe out of duty, yes, probably.
It's the commitment, I thought.

It is a very tough struggle.
But no matter what, its my own decision.
Nobody forced me into this, I did it to myself.

In times like this, I'm glad that y'all are around.
Sometimes, you don't need people to say you can do it, no matter what, you can do it.
You need people to tell you, no, you can't do it this way, you'll fail, but I know you'll try and you'll do better.

Maybe all along, all that I needed was affirmation, from alot of people, from you guys.

as we go through 4 years of secondary school life,

we look back, searching for the people back then.
&here we are, back together again on this day.

Nearly one school term since I last blogged.
Term 3 seems to pass the fastest among all, and here comes EOYs.
On this day, we celebrate Teacher's Day, concert was okay.
Had a great time laughing with yuning, hsiaotien, amanda they all during the ACES Day game.
Officially in Red House now, I miss yellow but oh well.

After concert ended, went to deliver present for Mr Oh.
Had a feeling that I can't really describe.
When we did billibanja around him, when we shook his hand and wished him happy t'cher's day, when he jokingly said hes touched and wanted to tear, when he joined us in cheering our unit cheer, RVNP.
Something sort of came back, I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Missed the times when he was around (technically he still is but ya), when we look up to him, greeting him proudly as 'SIR'.
Deep down within us, he wasn't just a teacher, not just another TO, he was a fantastic Sir, a Sir who deserved our respect and will always do.
All the contributions he had made for the unit, and especially for our squad, too much to mention.
rvnsps107 is where we are not just because of everyone of us in the squad, not just because of our dearest ICs (and NCOs), CIs, HOs and TOs but because of Mr Oh.
He was always there to capture all our moments in RVNP but shared little photos with us, a regret for us, in a way.
Really miss him and appreciate all the hardwork he has put in.
Happy Teacher's Day Mr. Oh :D and yes, RVNP SOLID SAH!

After that, went back to BLG (but didn't go inside) with Claire.
And went to meet Kangjing and gang at JP LJS.
Ate lunch. Many were back, me, Peiling, Claire, Huixian, Jolene, Sheihli, Guakrong, Daniel, Kangjing, Ezor, Ceksin.
Although lunch was pretty quiet but all it matters was we had lunch together (:
Miss laughing like mad at the way KJ and Sheih 'quarrelled', Jolene's laughters.
Suddenly everything started coming back, guess I really miss those times too.
Went for soccer after that, was watching, like before. (:
Everyone seemed to have grown up, yet there was still something that didn't change.
Can't really pinpoint the exact thing but ya.
Laughed really hard and had lots of fun, took quite some photos too.
*Photos taken today uploaded on fb (:

4 years after we've graduated from BLG.
Went to different schools, met new people.
I believe everyone changed, in one way or another.
Grown up, maybe is the word to use.
Suddenly, secondary school life's coming to an end, another graduation approaching (not for us but well..)
After months and months without talking to each other, there was this barrier.
Maybe we felt like strangers, quite sad, to think that we were so close back then.
But somehow after awhile, things got better, was easier to talk.
Maybe next time we should go somewhere, sit down and really just chat.
Catch up on each other's life and stuff like that.
Hope that we can still keep in contact no matter what (:
Shall organize more outings end of the year, and hopefully with more outings, we can close in on the distance between us.
Thanks alot to everyone who came, for today. Had a great time, it was nice to recall those memories back then, in contrast to the present, remind each other of all the random and crazy moments we shared in the past.
Here's wishing everyone all the best for Os, and those without Os, jiayou for EOYs, and those without either, jiayou with... life. (sounds lame but ya)
31 August 2010. 6/7'o6 (:
sixseveno6, together forever.

the End,

but not as expected.

thebangbangsquad
rvnps107, NCOs'10.
020207 - 250610
'cos you know we rock.
we hope we've left a legacy behind,
the first batch of NCOs to use the NP room in the Boonlay campus.

4 years in NP, in a blink of an eye.
once in our lives, four years of our time.
have you ever wondered why must we serve?
cos we love our unit and want it to be first.

now that we've stepped down,
we're just one step away from losing the final connection with rvnp,
the official ROD.

before today, i didn't really feel much, although fully aware that today's the final act with my s1s.
don't know why, maybe the feeling just didnt dawn upon me.
i wonder how many of them understood what all of us said to them throughout the 4plus months together.
maybe they were too fresh to understand, maybe it all sounded cliche and superficial.
but all we've said, im sure impacted a few.
experience we've shared, i hope can become a guide to them, preventing them from committing the same mistakes.
the time we've spent with them, although not long, i hope is long enough to leave them a good impression of rvnp, long enough to instill some pride of being an rvnp cadet in them.
things are always easier said than done, promises they've made, not all are done.
but at least, i see potentials, i see hope in them.
all im hoping is that their passion dont die as their journey with rvnp continues.
it may not be easy, or rather, it is going to be difficult, but never give up.
it seems a long way to them right now, but the next thing you know, you're the ones stepping down and passing on the unit to the next batch of leaders already.
im sure one fine day, they will understand all that was said today.
(provided that they do remember what was said)
i believe they have what it takes to be an elite squad, really.
with the correct mindset and attitude that they have started with,
just need to continue, make it last.
things will definitely change for the better if that continues.
no matter how harsh we may seem, we've never ever given up on them,
no ics will ever give up on their squads.
so s1s, time to buck up really,
time spent with yall was not enough, yet filled with memories.
do treasure your following cadet years and shine as a great nco squad in the future.
hoping that when we come back as old seniors and when y'all take your squads,
we'll be really proud of yall.
we believe y'all can do it,
if you think you can, you can!
rvnps110, all the way (:

time with them was short,
our expectations was definitely harsh for a s1 squad.
yes, our unit is no longer the same, we need a change.
they'll understand it one fine day, as they grow to love rvnp.

how true,
its impossible to understand all the agony, all the misery beneath the smiles.
we're posers, quoting wying.
beneath the fake front that we all put on, we all were stressed out.
feelings that cadets never understood until they experience it for themselves.
i've never once thought i would break down infront of them.
last thing i thought i would ever do.
but i did.
it may be a bad thing, or a good thing.
all i can say is that, i didnt expect everything to end this way, nobody did.

today alot of ex-ncos came back,
Ma'am Xinyue, Staff Sijia, and many ex-ncos.
they saw our s1s.
Never expected myself to be so affected, tried hard to control.
Tears just flowed.

thinking back, yes, my squadmates, who supported me all the way throughout my 4years.
people i've considered part of my life, just like rvnp, our unit.
love for my squad brought me this far, the thought of us stepping down right now breaks my heart.
always wondered how life would be after ROD, after step down.
will we still be as close as before, definitely not.
will we become strangers even, i dont want to know.
bonds we've forged, the thought of losing them, i dont want to think further.

rvnp, a place where i learnt alot, a place which helped me grow, watched me grow.
somewhere where i met a group of important people.
a cca i'll never forget.

alot of things on my mind right now,
but cant seem to find the exact words to put them in.
all i can say is,
thanks for all the memories squadmates, ex-ics, s1s. (:
a simple thankyou, but you know behind it, theres much more than that.

i love rvnp,
i love bangbangsquad,
i love my s1s,
a love i'll never forget.

may future generations of rvnp help bring the unit to greater heights,
for thats the wish of many.

RVNP SOLID SAH!
you can take a cadet out of rvnp, but you cannot take rvnp out of a cadet.
